Biafra: Niger Delta Youth Council WorldWide, SNDYCW, has disowned the Niger Delta Avengers and MEND

The Supreme Niger Delta Youth Council WorldWide, SNDYCW, has disowned the Niger Delta Avengers and the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, describing their activities as “pure armed robbery.”
The President General of the Council, Prince Michael Newgent Eaton, stated this when the council met with the leadership of the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, in Kaduna on Thursday.
He noted categorically that members of the MEND and the Avengers should be arrested and prosecuted.
Ekamon remarked that they were in Kaduna to meet with leaders and elders of the region who had served the country well and wanted to see the country remain as one indivisible entity.
He explained that, “Our group is not militant. We are here to see how we can build one Nigeria. We want to condemn the activities of the Avengers and the MEND. They are criminals. But better put, armed robbers who are stealing the wealth of our land.
“We know them. We know that some of the Avengers have served in the previous government and they are even serving in this present government.
“If we are given the mandate, we will go and confront them in their houses. So, we don’t want President Buhari to be deceived by their antics. There is nothing in the real sense like avengers. They are playing pranks.”

The President stated that the problem in the region was not the problem of Federal government but that their leaders were sabotaging the people because of greed.
He queried: “What is it that the federal government has not done for the region? We have OMPADEC, NDDC, 13 percent derivation, Ministry of Niger Delta and security votes. We don’t know what our governors are doing with the security votes.”
He remarked that it was based on this premise that they were organizing a summit in Edo State between the 27th and 29th of October to discuss the problem in the region.
“We are here to extend our hands of friendship to the people in this region.
“To seek their blessing and support. That’s why we are here with the former Senate president, Joseph Wayas, who has never been invited by any anti-corruption agency. We also have the blessing of former Head of state, General Gowon”, he stated.
Responding, the chairman of ACF, Ibrahim Coomasie, observed that the two regions had sustained a long period of friendship.
Represented by one of the elders in the region, Musa Liman, he said the forum believed in the doctrine of one Nigeria where equal justice and equity prevailed.

Rotimi Amaechi says the outcome of Edo election is a fulfillment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise of free, fair and fair election.
– Rotimi Amaechi says the outcome of Edo election is a fulfillment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise of free, fair and fair election
 – The minister of Transportation discloses that he Buhari assured of free and fair election in Edo and then in Rivers

Rotimi Amaechi, the minister of Transportation, has said that the outcome of Edo election is a fulfillment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise of ensuring free, fair and credible elections in the country, Vanguard reports.

Amaechi who was represented by Dr. Dakuku Peterside, director-general, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), made this known on Thursday, September 29 at Ngo in Andoni local government area of the state.
According to the report, Amaechi said that after the March 19 rerun elections in Rivers, he reminded Buhari of his promise to conduct free and fair elections in the country.

He said: “I went to the president because there were more guns in hands of criminals than Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in hands of peaceful people during the March 19 legislative rerun elections.

“The president assured me that to signpost the fact that never again will electorate be held hostage by gunmen, watch out for Edo governorship election.
“If we have free, fair and credible election in Edo, then you take it that same will happen in Rivers, Buhari assured me.” The minister therefore believes that with the peaceful conduct of the Edo election, Buhari had fulfilled his promise and Rivers people would reap from that pledge.
He said: “In a peaceful atmosphere during elections, no South-South state will vote for opposition party. So, Rivers people will vote to be in the mainstream in the pending rerun elections.

“I want to assure Rivers people that there will be free and fair election and APC will come out victorious.” Amaechi noted that APC has the best candidates to represent Rivers effectively in the national and state assemblies.

He said: “With APC members in the state assembly, the legislature will have its colour; Rivers people will have strong voice in the National Assembly.”

Biafra: Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate has warned the military and oil firms of an imminent attack

A militant group, the Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate, NDGJM, has warned the military and oil firms of an imminent attack, in what it tagged the “next big statement.”
The spokesman of NDGJM, Gen. Aldo Agbalaja, on Monday, September 26, 2016 that there would be no ceasefire until there is a correction of the injustices of the past years.
According to him, Operation Crocodile Tears, launched recently, would be stepped up and that by the time they unleashed the Phase II of the mission tagged, ‘Operation Hammurabi Code’ only God knows what will become of Nigeria.
However, the Nigeria Army said yesterday that it was unfazed by the threat.
When contacted over the threat, the director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar said the military has a constitutional mandate to carry out.
Rabe said the national assignment couldn’t be compromised for anything, maintaining that negotiations are going on with militants in the Niger Delta area.
Abubakar insisted the troops are rendering national service, protecting every law-abiding citizen, notwithstanding their nationality, as long as they are resident in Nigeria.
The Defence spokesperson said, “We will do everything possible within our mandate to protect ourselves, innocent lives and property. Our nation is greater than anybody or group. Peace is the only answer, not violence.”
In a related development, the Network of Grassroot Elites for Capacity Development (NGECP) has cautioned the agitators against continued bombing of oil installations.
The South-South coordinator of NGECP, Adele Jombai, after a national conference in Awka on Monday, also urged the Federal Government to deepen engagement with the community leaders with the aim of addressing the problems.
Jombai noted that the elders and stakeholders in the Niger Delta region have told the militants that are involved in these activities to stop because the consequences are detrimental to all.

Biafra: Navy Parades Notorious Militant Leader In Niger Delta

A notorious militant leader suspected to be a gang leader of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) has been arrested and subsequently paraded by the Nigeria Navy Ship (NNS) Delta as part of the activities of the Joint Task Force (JTF), Operation Delta Safe (ODS), in Warri axis of the state.

The Commander of the NNS Delta, Commodore Joseph Dzunve, while parading the suspect, who is also known as Gabon, said the arrested suspect is a gang leader in the NDA, adding that he is reputable for other forms of criminal activities, including pipeline vandalism, sea robbery and oil theft in the region.

Dzunve, revealed that Gabon, who was arrested in Sapele has been mentioned by some suspects arrested in the past as a leader in the cell of vandals destroying oil pipelines in the Warri North council area of the state.

”As part of the ongoing efforts by the federal government to stop crude oil theft and illegal bunkering activities in the nation’s maritime domain, the Nigerian Navy Ship Delta, being part of Operation Delta Safe, has arrested a notorious gang leader, who has been in this criminal business since 2011,” Dzunve said.

“He is involved in pipeline vandalism, sea robbery, attacks on ships, illegal bunkering and currently a suspected member of the Niger Delta Avengers.
”The Nigerian Navy in general, and the NNS Delta in particular, is not relenting in the fight against crude oil theft and other illegal activities such as sea robberies, attacks on shipping and the Niger Delta Avengers.

“The Nigerian Navy remains committed in apprehending those behind all forms of criminal activities in the Nigerian maritime domain.”

However, Gabon denied being a member of the NDA but confessed that he had been involved in attacks on pipelines in the region saying he was recruited by one late ‘General’ Alpha Polo.

“Let me talk for you to understand me, Alpha Polo said as his community, Opia community in Dibi, has oil and the youths were not being recognised, he decided that we should bomb some pipe so that he would be recognised by the company and give us work,” he told reporters.

“Me and Alpha Polo bombed two pipes in Dibi in 2011. But he died earlier this year and I have not been going for operations since then.

“But this man called General Felix and one Stanley Osiso have been doing it. General Felix used me to work. They call me Gabon.”

Biafra: Niger Delta, “Buhari Is Clueless, He Knows I Am Not Behind Avengers” –Tompolo

High Chief,  Government Ekpemupolo, aka Tom-Polo is on the run from Federal Government forces, who have accused him of aiding and sponsoring the Niger Delta Avenges, the new militant  group alleged to be behind the recent bombings of oil installation in the Niger Delta region.
Tom –Polo, who accused soldiers of attacking his aged  father, an action which he alleged  led to his death last week, told our correspondent in an exclusive electronics -mail interview over the weekend that he is been persecuted because certain selfish politicians and forces want to use him as a bait to get to former President, Goodluck Jonathan.
He also alleged that the Government, headed by President Muhammed Buhari is clueless and that he may still go back to creeks in the nearest future.
He also took a swipe at the judiciary for tying itself to the apron of the Federal Government and for frustrating his case against the government.
Excepts;
Is it true that your late father was man-handled by some security personnel last year?
Yes. It happened on the early hours of Saturday May 28, 2016 when the Nigerian Army under the guise of looking for members of the Niger Delta Avengers and of course my humble self, who they have accused of being behind the activities of the group without any evidence, invaded Kurutie town, where my father, Chief Thomas Ekpemupolo was staying.

They ransacked the whole building and brutalized him. He sustained an injury in one of his legs. We took him to Warri for medical attention after one week of the incident due to difficulty in movement from the village to Warri because of the activities of the Army, and he was admitted at Lily Clinic, where thorough medical tests were conducted on him.
The doctors later advised that his lower limb should be amputated because complication has set in as a result of the injury. We agreed to this and that was done. However,  he later died in the clinic after two months.
How do you feel about his death while you are now on the run?
It is a painful development as my father was unjustly killed by the Army. I had debunked the accusation that I was behind the Niger Delta Avengers at many occasions, therefore the action of the Army was unwarranted.
I did not do any wrong by selling my property to the Federal Government  through due process, something that was approved by the Federal Executive Council. Why do you think you are been hounded by the security forces? I am just a victim of circumstances.
I am just a perceived enemy of the government. The intention of the government was to arrest former president Goodluck Jonathan. But they feel that arresting Jonathan without arresting me may be difficult, that was the reason why they are after me.
What will be done about your father’s burial in your absence? Other members of the family will plan the burial arrangement. However the issue will be taken to the appropriate quarters to seek redress on the gruesome murder of my father.
The people of your community are lamenting about your absence, due to your much trumpeted philanthropy. Is there anyway you can still help them, especially in this recession period?
It is unfortunate that I am not around to continue to give helping hand to my people as result of my persecution by this government. Before this  time,I was doing what the government and multi-national oil companies could not do for the people in the areas of education and health care. My foundation was providing a quality health care for the people in Okerenkoko, where about 90 communities were accessing free health care in surgical operations of any dimension.
For about three years while we operated the clinic, about 500 births were recorded. But due to my persecution by this administration, we shut down the medical facility. Even at that, we are still doing
something in the area of education. We just awarded scholarships to seven first class graduates from the Benson Idahosa University, Benin, to do their masters in any country of their choice. I do all these to promote peace and usher in development to the coastal areas, but the government and some wicked and selfish individuals do not want that to happen.
How do you view the allegations that you are one of the sponsors of the Niger Delta Avengers?
It is baseless and a wicked allegation. I have refuted the allegation. Even the government knows that I am not a sponsor of the Niger Delta Avengers. They are only looking for something to nail me. But they have failed. Now Nigerians have seen the way the government has run the economy aground because they are clueless, and only chasing shadows. It is difficult to give what you do not have.
Why do you think the Niger Delta Avengers include your freedom as one of the conditions to down their weapons?
I do not know about that, and it is not my problem. Maybe they feel that if I am around, it will be easier to build the peace process because so many of the boys have respect for me.
Can you still go back to the creek in future?
Why not? That is where I come from, and the whole of my life I have stayed there. This is just a temporary setback as I prefer to stay in the creek than any other place. That was why I led the struggle for a better living condition for the people so that in the shortest possible time, the creek is urbanized so that the people will live like their counterparts in the urban areas.
What kind of relief do you think the courts can offer you, now that you have sued the Federal Government?
I was the first person to sue the government and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) because my company’s account was restricted unjustly, but till now, the court has been playing funny, as the court has refused to hear the matter, instead, it has been adjourning the case at every sitting. I pray that the Nigerian Judiciary should be independent, otherwise, it is difficult for a perceived enemy of the government to get justice and judgement.
What do you think about the present state of the amnesty programme ?
The amnesty programme has been politicized. The programme was to create the enabling environment for the desired development of the Niger Delta region. It was to be a means to an end, and not an end on its own. The government should hand over the programme to stakeholders
to drive, it is only then that  the programme can achieve its desired goals.
